Warrant Information

Court Issued Warrants
In most cases, when a warrant for arrest is necessary, a notice is sent to you at the address shown on your ticket. Additional fines and warrant fees will be added to the amount due if you have a warrant issued for your arrest, and you may be subject to additional charges for violation of promise to appear. The notice outlines the violations charged against you and fines associated with the warrant.

The Court will issue a warrant when:

  • You fail to make a plea to violations shown on your citation
  • You fail to comply with the Orders of a Judge
  • You do not complete a payment plan or fail to make payments as promised.

Resolving a Warrant
Your warrant may be cancelled if you plead "No Contest" or "Guilty" to the warrant charge and pay the fine and court costs. If you want to plead "Not Guilty" to a charge after an arrest warrant has been issued, you must come to the Court to post the required cash bond and obtain a court date to see the Judge.

If you fail to dispose of your warrant, the Benbrook Police Department will actively pursue your arrest.
Additionally, your warrant will be entered into the region computer system, which will make you subject to arrest, by any peace officer in the State of Texas.

The Benbrook Municipal Court refers past due warrants for collections. Warrants referred to collections will have an additional 30% added to the total amount owed on your violation. The warrant will not be lifted until your balance (including the additional 30%) is paid in full. Payments for accounts referred to collection must be by cash, money order, or cashier's check. Personal checks will not be accepted.
