Parks and Recreation

The City of Benbrook’s Parks Department is responsible for maintaining Benbrook’s parks system, public rights-of-way and Benbrook Cemetery. Benbrook currently has four developed parks comprising approximately 100 acres. In addition, three undeveloped park areas are preserved in their natural state and may be developed in the future. Alcohol Consumption - It is a violation of Benbrook Ordinance to possess or consume alcohol in any Benbrook park area excluding pavilions #1 and #2.

Baseball Field Reservations - Baseball fields may be reserved at a cost of $10 /hour. Make reservation by clicking here or by calling 817-249-3000.

Benbrook Lake - Inquiries regarding Benbrook Lake should be directed to the Army Corps of Engineers as Benbrook Lake and the vast majority of the area adjoining Benbrook Lake (including Holiday Park) is owned, operated and managed by the Corps of Engineers. Camping - Camping in any Benbrook park is by special permit only and is generally prohibited. Camp sites adjoining Benbrook Lake are available through the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Dutch Branch Park - Dutch Branch Park is the Benbrook’s central, featured park facility. Amenities include three playgrounds including Castle and Robot playgrounds, a walking track, two lighted sand volleyball courts, tennis courts, multi-use courts, basketball goals, a soccer field, baseball and softball fields, duck pond, pavilions, concession stand, picnic areas, and restrooms. Click here for an aerial view of Dutch Branch Park.

Park Use Rules and Regulations - The Benbrook Municipal Code, Chapter 12.16.010, establishes rules and regulations for park area use.

Pavilion Reservations - Pavilions #1, #2, #3 and #4 (map) may be reserved by clicking here or by calling 817-249-3000. The cost to reserve a pavilion (per day) is $40 for Benbrook residents and $50 for non-residents. All other pavilions including the pavilions at Castle Park and adjoining the Dutch Branch Park Duck Pond are on a first come, first serve basis and may not reserved. Pavilions do not have grills, electric or water service.

Recreation Programs - Recreation programs including basketball, aerobics, tumbling, flag football, etc. are administered by the Benbrook Community Center/YMCA (BCC/YMCA). To contact the BCC/YMCA, click here or call 817-249-0500.

Senior CenterLocated at 1010 Mercedes Street, the Benbrook Senior Center is open weekdays from 8 AM to 2 PM, except holidays. Activities include walking, exercise classes, games, crafts, health screenings, tax counseling, defensive driving classes, covered dish luncheons, lunch outings, day trips, game night, and evening dances.  Click here  to view monthly calendar, or call 817-249-6300 for more information.

Soccer Field Reservations - The Dutch Branch Park soccer field may be reserved at a cost of $20/hour ($100 refundable deposit with light usage). Make reservations by clicking here or by calling 817-249-3000.

Tennis Courts - Lighted tennis courts are available on a first come, first serve basis. Tennis courts are located at both Dutch Branch Park and Timbercreek Park.

Timbercreek Park - Timbercreek Park is located within the Timbercreek subdivision at the end of Park Drive. Amenities include a playground, tennis courts, practice soccer field and picnic area. Click here for an aerial view of Timbercreek Park.

Twilight Park - Located in north Benbrook between Twilight Drive South and Mary's Creek Drive, Twilight Park features a swing set, picnic table and benches. Click here for an aerial view of Twilight Park.

Youth Baseball and Softball - All youth baseball and softball programs are administered by the Benbrook Youth Baseball/Softball Association, a volunteer, non-profit organization. For more information about youth baseball and softball programs, click here.

Youth Soccer – Youth soccer programs are administered by the Benbrook Community Center/YMCA.
